ONCE FOUNDATION for disabled people cooperation and social integration was founded in February 1988, by decision of the ONCE (National Organization for the Blind of Spain) General Council, and was formally presented in September of that year.,It is a vehicle for solidarity and cooperation by the blind people of Spain with towards other disability groups and aims to improve their quality of life. ONCE Foundation’s main purpose lies in developing programs for labour integration –training and employment of disabled people – and universal accessibility in order to overcome all kinds of barriers. Since its creation, ONCE Foundation has supported about 20.000 projects, .proposed by private persons or legal entities, funding more than 1100 million euros.
